November 20, 2025Nov 20 Folks, need help....At the beginning of last week (w/c Mon 10 Nov) i noticed Plex had hung.I dont recall the circumstances i'm afraid. But i came to the conclusion it was knackered.By Thurs 13 Nov, i had decided to un-install the app, and re-install.I did that, and after installing, i had to point Plex at my media libraries.Plex spent several days scanning vast music & video libraries. It finally came to a halt, but the GUI showed many categories, on the left side.I had x6 'Film' categories. So i tried to delete some of them.I must have ended up in another mess, and decided to uninstall & re-install another time.Now.....i've got a real problem.I cant get Plex to install at all. Please see screenshots attached.I download the official Plex app, setup my config (/config, /transcode and /data).Once i kick that off, Plex tries downloading some files. The last one RARELY downloads fully. But sometimes it does download fully.I did some forum research.Someone mentioned deleting docker image. So i deleted docker.img.I left Plex for x18 hrs doing this install. But i find it hung, again.Another observation, when Plex is downloading the files, the GUI hangs solid. So when i reckon its hung, i have to re-boot UnRaid, to get a working GUI.I'm in a real mess here. Can someone help ??Happy to publish whatever files you need.Richard

November 20, 2025Nov 20 Community Expert User shares are disabled, is this on purpose? The Docker image has thousands of read errors, and looking at the cache disk where it resides, it appears to be failing. Run an extended SMART on it and post new diags.
November 20, 2025Nov 20 Author JorgeI dont use user shares.Never have.I know exactly where my media is stored.Await smart report.
November 21, 2025Nov 21 Author JorgeWhen i tried to run a smart report on the cache disk last night, it terminated.I dont recall the exact wording. However i have tried again this morning (Frid 21/11) and the scan completed successfully. Please find the report attached. Now a quick update.Based on your initial feedback that my cache disk might be toast....i used UnRaid to delete the docker.img file.I then attempted to install Plex on another drive, within my array (disk7).This time it has worked perfectly, and quickly (took maybe 3 mins).I'm now loading my media & metadata. However i am left wondering about my cache drive.Could i ask you to cast any eye over the contents of the report, and give me your thoughts ?Should i just throw the cache disk, or should i re-format it and continue using ??Await your feedback. And thank you for your input.Richardtower-smart-20251121-1107.zip
