So I have my server back up and running however prior to going down many months ago I was having drives drop out randomly I recall many threads that indicated a cable issue for which I agree I have 2 HBA's the current cables are cable matters are they good or is there a better brand that you would consider I have electronic contact cleaner and that has made a reasonable difference but it seems like if I power down is when the drive/s drop out

Also consider power cables. Ideally no more than 4 drives per PSU cable. MOLEX-SATA splitters are better than SATA-SATA splitters.

SATA and power cables should have plenty of slack so nothing can pull on the connection.

Don't bundle SATA cables.
