January 18Jan 18 Hello,Hopefully someone with much more knowledge than I have can help. I have an odd issue with my Unraid nas running Unraid 7.2.3. My machine is an HP 800 G3 with an all SSD pool setup as RAID1 and BTRFS, I also have a lone NVME drive that I use to dump copies of my PC backups to as a separate pool. I have added a 2.5Gb nic to the pc which was tested before putting in the Unraid machine.Sometimes when copying files the copy process from Windows 11 25H2 slows down to a crawl (1-2MB/s) and the Unraid GUI becomes completely unresponsive. After waiting for it to recover from whatever crisis it's having, I am then forced to do a hard reset and it's fine again.I realise the hardware I am using is old and second hand but I don't have a great deal of money to upgrade/replace so if there is anything I can do you mitigate the issue or at least reduce the frequency of it I would very much appreciate it.I have attached the diagnostics - if you need anything else please let me know. nas-diagnostics-20260118-2111.zip
January 19Jan 19 Author Sorry, no. I can upload it when it does if you want? I couldn't even get onto the gui to download them as the server was being so slow.
January 19Jan 19 Community Expert That could help, if you cannot get the diags when that happens, enable the syslog server and attach that.
January 21Jan 21 Author It just happened again while copying to my single backup drive. Attached are the diags just after I was able get back onto it. I enabled the syslog server but there is nothing in the log? I will need to look into that. nas-diagnostics-20260121-1254.zip

February 2Feb 2 Author Solution Hello, sorry I haven't replied sooner, I managed to get syslog working but it showed no errors. I suspect that the issue lies with my PC 2.5Gb NIC - a motherboard built in realtek device. When I was copying some files to the nas, I was also watching a video on youtube and the video had issues as well. I found a guide on how to make the nic more stable and the issue has not happened again. If it does I may add a PCIE nic with a non realtek chipset. Thanks to everyone who helped with this.
