January 21Jan 21 Hi @all,I've been running an unraid server for a couple of years now without any issues, but since last week it crashes randomly. All containers, VM and GUI are frozen and I don't even get any ping responses.I cannot reproduce the error. Sometimes it's running fine for a day, sometimes not even 10 minutes.so far I've tried the following without success:setup log to a different server: no entries before or at the crashesrun memtest86+: no errorsrun prime95 for about 1-2 hrs: so errors/crashupdated unraid from 7.2.2 to 7.2.3connect unraid to different ports/with different cables to switchexchanged the mainboard to a new one: no changereplaced power supply with brand new oneexchanged the usb stick and recreate unraid from usb-backupsetup unraid from scratch and recreated containers, vms, plugins etc. from backupNothing has helped so far…I’ve attached the diagnostics file. Any help or idea is much appreciated gartenstr-diagnostics-20260121-1457.zip
January 25Jan 25 Author Thank you so much for your assistance!I’ve deactivated c-states in the bios completely and didn’t have any issues since then. It’s now running fine for 3 days. I really hope that this was the issue. I’ll mark your answer as the solution for now!The only thing that confuses me, is that’s the system was running stable for a couple of years and the crashes started without any changes in the c-state settings… Are there any changes to Unraid in the latest version that might have caused this? Thanks again for your help!!
January 28Jan 28 Author Unfortunately, I have to unmark your solution. The crashes are back. Sometimes after a couple of hours, sometimes after a couple of minutes…I have now exchanged the RAM, but that also didn’t help.Any other ideas?
January 28Jan 28 Community Expert You can enable the syslog server to see if there's anything logged there, but it sounds more like a hardware issue.

You can find it here.Last crash was today in the morning. Must have happened between 3 and 6. The backup scheduled for 6 has not been executed. I' restarted the machine at around 9:30...What component do you suspect? I've already exchanged mainboard, usb-drive and ram...CPU shows no problems with constant prime95 loads syslog-Gartenstr.log
January 28Jan 28 Community Expert I assume it would have been between these 2 lines:Jan 28 03:03:02 Gartenstr kernel: docker0: port 5(vethe98039b) entered forwarding stateJan 28 09:04:13 Gartenstr rc.rsyslogd: Syslog server daemon... Started.Unfortunately, there's nothing relevant logged, again suggesting more of a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker containers/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one, including the individual docker containers.
February 11Feb 11 I'm crashing often now too. I did get some logs and they related to a USB enclosure. Not sure if your hard drives are external as well? I'm still digging to fix it
