April 9Apr 9 Hi geniuses,When I setup the nextcloud(spaceinvaderone) i didn't realised that all these while my docker was in btrfs image. So, i decided to change to xfs docker image, which unraid created the file.I thought of just 'reinstalled previous apps' would work but not for nextcloud - it kept asking to start a new user (new passphrase) - no options to restore from backup. Is there a way to re-install and restore from backup if i re-created the docker to xfs? Thanks!
April 9Apr 9 Community Expert Nextcloud AIO uses docker subvolumes which are stored inside the docker.img vdisk, you deleted those when you deleted your docker.img vdisk. You've wiped it clean and now have to start over. If you setup the nextcloud AIO backup you will need to restore the data. If not... data is probably gone. You will need to use the built in borg backup restore feature.
April 9Apr 9 Author I didn't delete the docker.img vdisk it is still there when i revert back in docker settings to btrfs.but everytime i chose xfs and install the docker it recognises as a new one as you mentioned.
April 10Apr 10 Community Expert Changing the filesystem type of the docker.img vdisk should remove the old one and create a new one. Otherwise you would end up with two docker.img vidsk files and I dont believe that is the case. You will have to look at the creation date to see when it was created to know for sure.Furthermore why are you even changing it from btrfs to xfs?
April 10Apr 10 Author yeah, you are right it created a new one or modified, but funny enough it recognises all the previous installed docker when i revert back to btrfs.Reason, tbh- people are talking about how it improves stability, and relibaility / write performance, I was thinking of doing this before issues happens. But, is it actually worth it? or it doesn't matter?
April 10Apr 10 Community Expert Solution What I've noticed examining some diagnostics is xfs img is named docker-xfs.img. So maybe both exist as separate files.
