7.3.xx version - Moving boot drive (NVME/SSD) to another drive (NVME/SSD)

Featured Replies

Hey!,

Anyone knows how to move/transfer the existing UNRAID 7.3.xx from an old NVME/SSD to a new one ? The Unraid Key is still on the USB. I don't transferred to the TPM (yet)

Thx

Mount the flash drive, e.g.:

mkdir /x

mount /dev/sdX1 /x

Copy only the current config there (/boot/config to /x/config) , assuming the Unraid version is already the same, boot from the flash drive, remove the current boot pool, run the wizard to create the new boot pool, boot from the new boot pool.

Could you explain that further?

I don't currently have a flash drive boot, only internal boot. So I need to create a new flash drive for boot, and then use the wizard to get up the new drive?

That's the easiest way currently: create a flash drive using the USB tool with the same version you are running from internal boot, copy the config folder there, boot from the flash drive, and re-run the wizard to create the new boot pool.
