So I go to unraid API settings to verify backup and it says it is disabled until you signed in. So I click Sign in and it opens accounts.unraid.net which is signed in, but when I go back to my server it still is not signed in. What is missing?

Thats another thing I do, I go to "Regsiter your server for unraid connect", and click "Register" it says submitting and returns me to my server to default page. I go back to settings->ManagementAccess and still see the "Disabled until you have signed in"

You should see the below after clicking "register." If you do not, try using a different browser, and make sure no ad-blocker/firewall is blocking the GUI:
