binhex-qbittorrentvpn docker no longer loading web GUI.

Featured Replies

I'm trying to troubleshoot why I can no longer load Web GUIs for my binhex-qbittorrentvpn docker. It used to work fine, then stopped working, although I cannot ascertain at which point it stopped working. My browser just cannot connect. The Unraid web UI connects fine. Other dockers I have connect ok as well, such as Binhex Krusader, my Emby Server and my Serviio Server. I tested installing a Jellyfin docker with a brand new config and I can connect to the web UI.

I updated my UNraid to the recent 7.3.2 version, and the problem persists. I see in the notes that something was updated with docker VLAN functionality. I can't ascertain what in the config can cause this. I have some dockers configured with Host mode and others with Bridge mode for network type and they all run the web GUI on my local network. Just not Qbittorrent vpn.

Any pointers on what to look for are GREATLY appreciated. I can RUN the docker, I see it started in the docker window, but no GUI.

I'm looking through binhex-qbittorrentvpn.log after launching and notice two things that seem to stand out (I'm pretty ignorant and could be wrong)

2026-07-29 13:39:02 Attempting to establish TCP connection with [AF_INET]185.153.177.126:443

And then...

2026-07-29 13:47:18 TCP: connect to [AF_INET]185.153.177.126:443 failed: Connection timed out

It's looking like I'm not connecting to the Open VPN anymore and perhaps this stops my container from running?

Another error I didn't like is right at the start of running:

2026-07-29 13:43:15,651 DEBG 'start-script' stdout output:

[warn] Unable to load tun kernel module using modprobe, trying insmod...

2026-07-29 13:43:15,653 DEBG 'start-script' stderr output:

insmod: ERROR: could not load module /lib/modules/tun.ko: No such file or directory

2026-07-29 13:43:15,653 DEBG 'start-script' stdout output:

[warn] Unable to load tun kernel module, assuming its dynamically loaded

I don't know what any of this means. Meanwhile, I'm going to find out if the IP used for OpenVPN was deprecated recently

UPDATE: After using a current OpenVPN config key, WEB GUI springs up. The logs were clear, the server I was pointing to was no longer valid, hence the Qbittorrent container would hang at this step, attempting to connect. It showed as "running" in the UNraid panel, but it was hanging from the VPN connection attempt. I'm leaving this post as is in case this helps someone else in the future.
