August 6Aug 6 My disks recently got a heating problem (due to the current heat wave) so I wanted to give them more space during a parity check. While doing so, I accidentally unplugged one of the disks. Now in the Main-screen the device has a red X nex to it saying "Device is disabled, contents emulated". (Diagnostics attached) Since a reboot didn't help and I am very nervous about changing the config, I'd just appreciate a little help and explanation as to what is happening here. What can I do about that? Thanks in advance tower-diagnostics-20260806-1548.zip
August 6Aug 6 Community Expert Solution Once a disk gets disabled, it needs to be rebuilt, SMART looks fine, and the emulated disk is mounting; assuming contents look correct, you can rebuild on top: https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/using-unraid-to/manage-storage/array/replacing-disks-in-array/#re-enabling-a-disabled-disk-rebuilding-onto-itself
