September 18, 200619 yr The User Share feature is only partially complete. If you go directly to a disk share and create a file in a directory which appears in multiple disks, that file will not appear in the composite user share. For example suppose you have this: disk1/Movies/Alien disk2/Movies/Tron Under the Movies user share you'll see: Movies/Alien Movies/Tron Now if you add disk2/Movies/Aliens2 It won's show up in the Movies user share unless you do a rescan. This will get fixed.

I'd ask for a way to force a re-scan of a disk programatically (or through script), but if you're doing to make this fully dynamic then that would be much better. The feature shows great promise, particularly since I can have the user share read-only and visible and the disk shares read-write and hidden. Means I don't need to worry about a family member or guest accidentally deleting a whole drive on me.
