July 13, 201213 yr Hello people, I'm after a bit of advice about disk config. I've got 4x2TB drives which I'll be putting into a pool. I've also got a 150gig raptor which I'd like to use outside of the pool as a Sabnzbd download drive, before couchpotato and sickbeard move the files into shares in the pool. What's the best way to achieve this? Is it possible to have the raptor separate from the array, or do I have to add it as a cache drive? Oh, and if someone could post a link to the latest preclear, that would be awesome as I appear to be having severe synaptic malfunctions today and can't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance.
July 13, 201213 yr On my phone so can't help with the link you need but as far as the drive question.... Since you are using 4 drives in the array you will need atleast the plus license, so using the raptor would be easiest if used as the cache drive. It would speed up any transfers you would do significantly, and could be used for Sab, Sickbeard and couchpotato. Those apps run best if the data directories are on cache as the cache drive is up before the apps start. The other option would be to use the snap plugin or put the lines required to mount a device outside of the array in your go file. The problem with this (if using plugins) is the plugins can start before the commands in the go file, causing issues. I'm not sure if the same applies if using unmenu packages. Plus, plugins are not supported by limetech so if you were to have significant issues with getting the drive online, the only avenue of support is the community, the cache drive is supported by limetech and would give you more support options.
