Can someone point me to a location to  restart the web services?  I can reach unmenu via the web but not the standard web interface.  Just seemed to drop dead for some reason.  I am running simple features if that make a difference.

The following used to work but I am not sure if it still does on R5, try it out:

 

Start a telnet session and type in the following commands:

 

killall emhttp

nohup /usr/local/sbin/emhttp &

This did not work for me. I eventually lost unmenu too. I ended up rebooting. Other people seem to have the same issue in 5 particularly with the segmentation fault when attempting to tester emhttp

Syslog attached.  My powerdown -r command didn't work last night before I went to bed so I had to give it the three finger salute on console to reboot it.  Everything seems ok now.

Correct.  You CAN NOT re-start emhttp.

 

You can only stop the array, and then reboot.

 

There are instructions in the wiki to stop the array from the command line.  (you must stop processes accessing the disks, un-mount the disks, then stop the array) See here: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Console#To_cleanly_Stop_the_array_from_the_command_line

may work, may not... no idea if it does everything needed for your case.

(it does not deal with mount points, loop devices, swap files)

 

Invoked as you stated, unless you know exactly "which" powerdown script you are running, it may have no effect at all.    (hint: always use a fully qualified path when invoking it "/sbin/powerdown" )

It was not designed to be re-started, and it crashes with a segmentation violation if you try on any recent release.

The web Interface dying is the only problem I have also with simple features installed I don't know if this a issue of simple features interface of not may try disabling it for a while see if it makes a difference.

 

 

Web interface is down again for me.  Is this a side effect of simplemenu or is this a core problem?  Anyone not running simple menu notice this problem on the 5 RC?

I have been running simplefeatures for months with nevery any issue, I am always on the latest release of both unraid and simplefeatures, never had any issues.

Same here, using SF with v5.0-rc5 for a couple of weeks now, no such problems.
