Shares not visable in Windows

Featured Replies

Now for a time the shares were showing up in Windows and I had to rebuild my UnRAID to fix a Plex issue. Everything is working great, same shared folders as before, same settings, and nothing! I can map to the share just fine but before the UnRAID server was showing up in my network neighbors but no longer able to do that. All the settings are the same only other changes is I was at 5.0-rc4 AiO up to 5.0-rc5 AiO but not sure that caused this issue. Any help would be much appreciated and thanks ahead!

Try stopping the array, and start it again. I find that a lot of changes in (share) settings in unraid either take effect immediatley, or sometimes only after you stop & restart the array...

I find that the array always responds quickly to changes.  It is Windows that fails to notice the changes to things like share permissions, often requiring Explorer to be closed (all Explorer windows) and then re-opened, and in extreme cases either logging out of Windows or even re-booting.

Yep did all that too thinking the same but not dice on it..... humm.... just a minor glitch since I can map to the share it is fine but I was just curious if anyone had this issue.

Thanks for the help!

After startup, my Windows 7 computer and its shares would briefly appear in the other computer's network neighborhood only to disappear about half an hour later. At first I thought only my Windows 7 computer had this problem but after creating some shares on XP computers in the network, I found out those were experiencing the same problem.
