June 18, 200818 yr I wanted to make a mini-itx system so i bought the Intel D201GLY2. I cant seem to be able to access. It has a Broadcom AC131KLMG LAN chip which I'm not sure if unRAID works with it. Can anyone confirm if it works or not? Thanks got it at Fry's so i can return it easy if it doesn't work
June 18, 200818 yr I could not find any info about drivers for the Broadcom, either online or at Intel.com, so your chances don't look good.
June 18, 200818 yr It looks like it might use the sis900 module, which is not included by default in the unRAID release. How far do you get? If you can log in as root and type ifconfig eth0 What do you see? try ethtool eth0 See if it gives any clues. Joe L.
June 18, 200818 yr Author root@Tower:~# ifconfig eth0 eth0: error fetching interface information: Device not found root@TowerL~# ethtool eth0 -bash: ethtool: command not found eh, i guess that's not a good sign...
June 19, 200818 yr It looks like it might use the sis900 module, which is not included by default in the unRAID release. There was a request to add this to the distribution. It has not been acknowledged, answered or built in yet.
June 19, 200818 yr Author How can i see if it is the sis900 module and if and when will it be released. Next update? And if i find a driver is their a way to load it?
June 19, 200818 yr Perhaps go through a rudimentary temporary minimal slackware install to see what driver it detects. From what I remember this board uses the SIS900 module See thread for more information http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=1436.0 If you want to continue with this board, either compile a new kernel yourself or beg, plead, promise your first born to Tom.
June 19, 200818 yr Author In another Topic you said: If I could get a .confg to start with I could recompile the kernel and make a new bzroot. I just dread going through all those questions in the kernel configuration. this was about SIS 900 Are you still up for doing that? And if you are, how can i provide you with a .config? I am totally Linux ignorant.
June 19, 200818 yr I built a custom .config from what is included in the distribution. my kernel and image are specific to my needs. There's a bunch of other stuff I included. The module cannot be shared amoung other kernels and bzroot images. (I have a custom bzimage and bzroot). I don't think they can be shared without permission. There are tutorials on compiling your own kernel and creating a custom bzroot image within the forum. Perhaps send a request to Tom to compile the module for you.
June 20, 200818 yr Author Thanks for all your help guys. This stuff is getting to complicated for me so i think I'm going to return the Intel motherboard. I think I'm going to order this motherboard of Newegg in a few days: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813153072 its fast enough (i think), fanless, and best of all its on the list of bards known to work http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hardware_Compatibility The only reason I'm not using the Intel board is because i can't get the LAN to work which apparently requires the sis 900 module If anyone has any info if it will be released soon or has already recompiled the kernel then plz let me know Thanks a bunch
June 20, 200818 yr I think I'm going to order this motherboard of Newegg in a few days: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813153072 That motherboard appears to be able to support two IDE drives and two SATA drives. Is that sufficient for your needs? Joe L.

Right now i have a few pata disks and the rest sata but i plan to faze out the pata. Hopeful in the end i will have 2 on-board sata and 4 on the pci card to make a total of 6 sata.
