August 24, 201213 yr Hi, I am very new with UNRAID but have kept it to basics. I have 2 data drives, 1 parity. I have created a user simple share called "Programs" with all options left to defaults. It has created the folder on both disks. The first anomaly is that when I click on the share tab in the interface, and then expand the "Programs" share to show all disks used by it (by clicking on the "Compute..." link), it shows both disks, with respective free space, but the total free space doesn't take disk1 into account (see below) Name Comment Size Free View Programs 0 B 218 GB Disk 1: 0 B 1263 GB Disk 2: 0 B 218 GB Then, when I look at the SMB share on my mac, the content of disk1 do not appear. I must add that I did have a disk share of the same name before switching to user shares, so would it have confused unraid in some way? I have tried to remove delete the share, rename the folders and then recreate a new share, but to no avail. Am I doing something wrong? Many thanks!
August 24, 201213 yr Who knows since you didn't provide any info on the share settings or the top level directories that exist on each disk. Try posting screen shots of; main unRAID screen user share settings for "Programs" top level directory shot of disk1 and disk2 It does sound like you just might have a filesystem problem with disk1 though.
August 26, 201213 yr Author I have worked it out... Settings - Share Settings. Somehow my disk1 had got unselected from the User Share list (no idea how), leading to the inconsistent reporting. It would be great if the interface didn't show a disk in the User Shares if they are not part of the shame, and that it didn't allow selection of the disk in the drop downs (Included - Excluded) for those disks
August 26, 201213 yr Nope.. I would not like that... From the main menu the interface can calculate the total amount of storage in the share, that needs to incorporate all disks with data on them. Even if such a disk was after that excluded from use (excluding only leads to the drive no longer to be used, the data on the excluded drive is still part of the user share)
