September 24, 201213 yr I'm looking to stream music from my iphone to speakers connected to my UnRAID server - essentially free Airtunes. Shairport seems to do the job: https://github.com/albertz/shairport but I'm at a loss where to even begin to install or test it. Anyone have any experience or tips to get me started? Cheers Martin
September 24, 201213 yr I could be wrong, but I think unraid does not include any soundcard modules. (Why should it, it's a file server?) So the first step would be to find out what modules need to be loaded to support your soundcard.
September 24, 201213 yr Author Thanks, I was afraid it would be something of a yak shave. A quick search on the forum for 'audio driver' confirms this is very much beyond me. Thanks for saving me the frustration
October 19, 201213 yr I am also interested by this feature. If someone can provide me a linux kernel with audio driver enable, i will make a shairport install & pluggin if needed
October 19, 201213 yr XBMC uses this and they have made quite a few patches for it. Be advised that IOS6 apparently breaks their support for it. Seems Apple breaks support with each iOS release. I'm told there's an Android client but I don't k is how capable it is. If a small separate piece of hardware running XBMC would scratch this itch have a look at the Pivos. Dirt cheap and can be flashed in minutes to run Linux XBMC :-)
October 20, 201213 yr Yeah i have read iOS6 isnt supported atm, but not really a big deal, atleast for myself. I wanted to use that to redirect any stream from one of my computer to my speakers link on unraid box by using AirFoil (http://rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/windows/)
