October 4, 201213 yr I tried to copy some folders from the cache disk to disk1 in Midnight Commander on my test server. After selecting the folder and pressing copy I am greetesd with a red error screen saying Cannot create target directory "/mnt/disk1/movie" Read only file filesystem (30). I can copy to other disks in the array, so what can be wrong with disk1, and how can I fix it?

October 5, 201213 yr Author Will the filesystem allways be read only to protect from further corruption? Can this also cause a red ball?
October 5, 201213 yr Will the filesystem allways be read only to protect from further corruption? Can this also cause a red ball? It is a function of the reiserfs file-system to set itself to read-only, so yes, if it detects corruption, it sets itself to read-only. No, I don't think it will even cause a "red ball." Once read-only, "writes" are not even attempted.
