Cannot rebuild a Failed Drive

Featured Replies

I had a 2T drive failed. So I replaced it with a 3T Drive.

The New 3T drive was precleared with another server as my main server cannot preclear any disk greater than 2T, because the Gdisk function dose not work.

I have used 5 different 3T drives and after rebuilding I still get the reball. I attach the log for the last disk that I have tried. On all the drives I get this

Oct  7 20:59:00 Tower kernel: sda1: rw=1, want=4294967296, limit=4294967295 (Drive related)

Oct  7 20:59:00 Tower kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device

Oct  7 20:59:00 Tower kernel: sda1: rw=1, want=4294967304, limit=4294967295 (Drive related)

How can I increase the blocks. or is there a way to fix this.

This happened to all my 5 3T disk that I have tried.

These 5 disk I can mount and format them in the spare server with no problem.

I also tried to relpace the failed 2T disk with a new 2T disk but the server says the drive was too small.

I a m running unRAID Server Pro

version: 5.0-rc6-r8168-test2

Can I just yank the drive out. I have transferred all the data out to another disk outside of the server.
