November 18, 201213 yr I have version 4.7. I replaced my SSD cache drive with a 1.5TB drive so that I could use the 1.5TB drive as a "spare" HD and use my SSD in a laptop. I stopped the array, removed the SSD as a cache drive, shutdown the system, physically replaced the SSD with the 1.5TB drive, started the system, then ran the system with no cache drive while I precleared the 1.5TB drive. Once preclear finished, I stopped the array and set the new, precleared 1.5 TB drive as the cache and restarted the array. I had to format the drive. All indications are that the cache is working. That is, the 1.5TB drive is marked as a cache. However, when I copy something to the array, the file does not go to the cache. Instead, when I check on the cache's contents, there's nothing there. How do I begin debugging this?
November 18, 201213 yr Author Thank you. Under "Shares" on the web interface I have the following: Min. free space: 2000000 Mover schedule: 40 3 * * * Moving logging is enabled I don't believe I've ever touched this, and to be honest don't know what any of this means. Does this help?
November 18, 201213 yr Are you sure you are: - copying to a user share (a disk share will not work) - enough space on the disk - not writing to an already existing file ? Also: check if you have a /mnt/user0 directory (if not: reboot)

Also: check if you have a /mnt/user0 directory (if not: reboot) Thank you again. Hmmm...The top three are checked. However, I do not have a /mnt/user0 directory. I'll reboot, but it might not be for a while (I am backing up the important files to a drive, and it's taking a long, long time).

It sometimes dies on me also, really a drag since you cannot restart it and a reboot is needed..
