Hi

I am a little new at this and I am looking for tips on diagnosing the cause of spinup.

Its about 8:48 and the mover ran at 8:00 so I am guessing it was the culprit.

I have a 1 hr spindown set.

I cleaned out the cache last night so there should have been no pending transfers.

I pushed the spin down button when I went to bed.

Any tips / tricks are appreciated.

I reported the same problem a few weeks ago and got no help, every time the mover runs, auto or manually with no data on the cache drive, every drives spins up, i ended up disabling the cache drive.

All righty then a show of hands on this problem please!

Hmm, thanks mate i'll try that too.

 

My seagate barracuda 7200.9's won't spindown too, so i guess the 40GB cache drive is keeping them going

Let's hope TOM will fix this soon.

i think tom is reverting to the IMHO better mechanism of unRAID explicitly controlling drive spin down in the next version. If he doesnt i will be writing a kludge as i absolutely need it.
