Joe L.
install the newer version. Apparently you have an older version installed. Link to comment

Joe L.
How can i do that. When i click unmenu updates from user scripts it says no updates. so will i have to manually download it? if so how Did you install it from unMENU? I;m a bit confused? Do you not have a "Download" button on the package-manager page when you select the unrar package? I just tries it here and the link works just fine, it downloaded the file from http://connie.slackware.com/~alien/slackbuilds/unrar/pkg/13.1/unrar-3.9.10-i486-2alien.tgz and put it in my /boot/packages directory. Is the file there in yours? Did you download it ever? Once downloaded, unmenu's package manager then gave me a button to install it. PRessing it installed unrar and then presented me with a button to re-install on reboot. The only way to have a difference in version number is if you installed a different version from somewhere else (or one of your other add-ons installed it for its own use, but installed the older version) From the command line type /usr/bin/unrar 2>&1 | grep UNRAR | awk '{print $2}' see what version you have.
