January 16, 201313 yr Hi, I have two user shares that show up separately in both the UNRAID user share section and the SMB export (on my windows box) Can I just delete the one I am not using : "Movies" (from configuration file) and it will go away? Or is there another trick to get rid of the dupe? Thanks!
January 16, 201313 yr I think the easiest is to go to each disk (disk share) and delete the directory and then stop and start the array and it will be gone. You can also go to the flash in config\shares and delete the config file for the unwanted share.
January 16, 201313 yr Author HI thanks I've tried the root directory deletion approach but it looks like (for whatever reason; linux) it distinguishes between the M and m in (M)movies and doesn't completely remove it. Ill try the user/shares delete config. thanks again mark
January 16, 201313 yr Author Ugh. So it does have something to do with the way SMB export handles dupes. Because I have those two root directories on the same disk. movies Movies and they both have the same files in them Removing all files off (of both) and deleting the dupe (big M) Thanks again!
January 16, 201313 yr Windows machines don't recognize the difference between capitols or not so you would have trouble over SMB. I should have suggested you just telnet to the server and delete the dupe from there.
January 16, 201313 yr Yep when ever I'm in doubt I always telnet or use putty and check each disk /mnt/disk* to make sure I'm not deleting something that is being masked by the user share feature of unRAID. Nothing worse than accidentally loosing data because of a quick mouse click.
