Blue case on unRaid homepage

I've got a rackmount codgen/ark case:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811182566 - potential for 14 hard drives if you add a 4-in-3 enclosure into the optical bays.  Defintely a "blue-collar" kind of case, functional and a lot of storage for the price.

My htpc is in a Silverstone LC17:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811163055 - could probably get 9 or 10 drives in it for an unRaid build.

I'm confused.

The above case you mention will house 7 drives in the internal bay.

Assuming a 4-in-3 enclosure in the optical bay I'm counting a total drive capacity of 11.

What am I missing?

The external 3.5" drive bay is immediately under the optical bay.  I don't have a drive in there (yet), but even after sticking in a 4-in-3 enclosure in the optical bays, it still looks like it would fit a hard drive, so that's +1 for 12.

On the 500 model, it does not show or list the extra bracket, but on the crossbar, there is a "U" bracket that came with the case.  You can see it on this diagram with the 600 model:

I verified my newegg order history and I definitely did get the 4U-500-CA which does not specifically list/show the extra bracket, but I got one.  Another review specifically listed it as well "and a cage for two 3.5" devices on the crossbar".  Obviously, ymmv.  If you could get a hold of a 2nd one of these, it then can be a low-priced full 16 drive unRaid case.  Use a 5-in-3 enclosure, and then you got room for the cache drive.  Here was my review "JRS" on page 2 of the reviews:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=11-182-566&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&SelectedRating=-1&PurchaseMark=&VideoOnlyMark=False&Keywords=&Page=2

The bracket will interfere with most cpu HSF assemblies in its default position, but it can be moved over unless you use all your expansion slots, or you can use a low profile htpc-like HSF.  I think it would fit over the lower profile stock intel HSF.

I'm generally happy with the case, but it isn't the easiest or slickest out there, not the easiest to work with, but I don't know a better way to get close to a max drive unRaid server for under $100.  It is not unusual for newegg to put that case on sale and/or offer free shipping.  I think at full price+shipping, it is less attractive compared to other options.

Edited to add:  The manufacturer site also does not show the bracket in the photos, but it lists 9x internal 3.5":  http://www.arktechinc.com/4u500/4u500.htm
