September 24, 200817 yr Hi, Support UnRaid PCIex4 SAS-SATA controller Adaptec 3405 or Adaptec 3805? Thanks for answer
September 24, 200817 yr Do you have one? If so, have you installed it on Lnux, and if so, do the drives present themselves as real SCSI devices or SATA/ATA devices ls -l /dev/disk/by-id I mention this because I'm wondering if unRAID needs more then just a driver addition, but an enhancement to emhttp to see devices that are not presented as ata. Once I get my unRAID dev system up and running, I'm going to slap in a 3ware card and see how it presents itself. In the meantime, I would be interested if you have this card and can show how it presents itself to the system.

You will not get nearly this speed on unRAID. Raid5 uses stripping, unRAID does not. the unRAID environment is great for archival storage and light to mediocre access. if you need high throughput unRAID may not be the most appropriate choice. FWIW, people do get excellent read throughput with unRAID and basic SATA controllers. If all you need is 4 Basic SATA ports, then the 1430sa will suffice and it's on sale lately.
