Updated to 5.0rc11, now I only have 100mb

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Thank you for this awesome software, I couldn't live without it :P

However ran into a problem when I updated from 5.0rc2 til 5.0rc11: I only have 100mb network after the update.

My system is a HP microserver N40L with 1x 3tb parity drive + 3x 2tb data drives.

I am using the same cables and switch/router as before the update, so the problem is in the software.

I have attached the syslog from unmenu

I have been google'ing and searching the forums for anyone with this same problem. Either this isn't a very common problem or my google'ing skills have gotten a lot worse lately.

Can someone please help me with this?!

HP N40L here on RC11 and I have a successful gigabit connection to my router.

Syslog confirms what you said.  You have a gigabit NIC using the tg3 networking module, and it linked up at 100mbps.  There are no apparent issues at all, so I see no reason for that speed.  Have you powered off and back on, and checked again?

One thing that is probably impacting the speed of your array, your 3tb parity drive is in IDE emulation mode (at a slow UDMA/100 speed).  When you next reboot, go into the BIOS settings and change the SATA support mode to a native SATA mode, preferably AHCI, anything but IDE mode!
