April 19, 201313 yr If I perform a complete reinstall. I reassign the disks correctly (as I had them before) will I need to recreate the shares? I am in the middle of trying to fix issues with my server and don't want to copy my config from my old install. I want to start all new and reinstall the addons I need. Thanks
April 19, 201313 yr I think the disk configuration is in a binary file named super.dat, but the other configurations such as shares are in text files with .cfg and you can open them and take a look to see what they were or just copy them over. Tapatalk from CM10.1 Kindle
April 19, 201313 yr Author I have screen shots of the disk config. SO no worries there but I am wondering what will happen with the shares. Do I need to get screen shots etc and reset them up or will the shares reappear
April 19, 201313 yr Take a look at the .cfg files on the flash. If you don't keep them you will have to re-enter them. Tapatalk from CM10.1 Kindle
April 19, 201313 yr Author I was able to get screen shots of all shares. So by recreating the shares nothing will happen to the data contained with in the share. It won't create some weird double share issue or anything will it? Thanks for taking the time to help
April 19, 201313 yr If by "complete reinstall" you mean starting from a reformatted flash, then there is no way for unRAID to remember anything about your previous setup including shares. The only thing that might still be hanging around is any app data that you had on your cache or other drives. You may have some folders on your cache or array drives that your plugins or other applications wrote and when you reinstall the plugins and tell them to use those folders again they may see any files that are still there. In any case, there is little chance you can do anything to your actual data from the webGUI as long as you don't format anything.
April 19, 201313 yr Author Thanks. I actually just replaced the cache and decided to replace the flash drive.
April 19, 201313 yr Shares with default settings will be created based on the top level directories of the data disks. All of your shares should be present.
