May 12, 201313 yr For a basic NAS (vanilla unRAID install, file server only, no plugins) your hardware is just fine and should also have relatively low power draw. It should even be sufficient for a few plugins like SABnzbd/SickBeard, etc. If you plan to run something like Plex, you should consider a more powerful CPU. Personally I'm not a fan of that case due to how the drives are mounted, but a few others have used it and are happy with it. For a small form factor case I much prefer the case in my sig, but it is more expensive.
May 12, 201313 yr ...i don't know about prices in Sweden...I simply assume that VAT is included in that online quote/basket ? Based on your choice, the CPU specifically, I suggest to look into the HP-Microserver series....small, with ECC RAM, a real server class. There is a good thread here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=11585.0 ...deducting the price for the 2 3 disks, I gather that 230-350EUR for that (2000-3000SEK) is possible, see: http://geizhals.at/?cat=sysdiv&sort=p&bpmax=&filter=+Liste+aktualisieren+&asuch=microserver&v=e&plz=&dist=&xf=451_HP+Compaq Edit: adjusted prices based on complete HP series and deducting you choise for 3x 2TB REDs
May 12, 201313 yr Author I already have a dedicated server for sickbeard and couchpotato this one is primaraly gona serve as a nas for media storage and nothing else. Im gona have a look at Your case
May 12, 201313 yr Looks fine for a basic UnRAID setup. The only issue I can see is that there are only 4 SATA ports on the motherboard; so if you later decide to expand, you'll need to add a controller card -- but it's not a problem, as there's a PCIe x16 slot available on the board ... and with 3TB drives, you'll have 9TB available anyway with just the 4 slots you already have ... I agree with dirtysanchez about the case -- the Lian Li is definitely a nicer case
