June 7, 201313 yr Does the version of MEMTEST, ie 4.1, provided with rc12 run on the recent CPUs and chipsets? I have just upgraded to rc12 and have replaced the old MB with an Intel B75 based one with 4Gb of RAM and a Celeron G1610 processor. The combination seems to run UNRAID fine but when I try to run MEMTEST it tries to start and displays part of the blue screen and just locks up and so does not run the tests. I tried it with one stick of RAM then the other but no joy. So I tried making a bootable USB drive with Memtest 4.2 on it and that one starts and is now running, I will leave it to see if there are any errors. If the MEMTEST 4.1 shipped with rc12a is not compatible how do I upgrade it to 4.2 on the UNRAID usb drive?
June 7, 201313 yr I remember having this problem on my Tyan S5512GM2NR. If I remember correctly I went to http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm and downloaded an image for 4.2.0 Linux and then copied the memtest file over to my unRAID boot USB. If I didn't do it that way then I got it (executable) from another thread posted here. Here are instruction for 4.1 so will probably work for 4.2.0 also. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=6267.msg60892#msg60892
