Maxtor drives not my fave but this is a decent deal on a boxed retail drive.

Ya... Maxtors aren't my fav either.

 

I really don't know what I like anymore 

 

I used to like WD years ago, then 18 drives went within a 3 month period in client machines that my company built and shipped out.

 

Then I liked Maxtor, until I personally had 5 go within a 7 month span.

 

Then I liked IBM's... until their whole fiasco couple years ago.

 

I'm on Seagates right now and have had pretty good luck with them so far (RADIatiON looks around for wood to knock on).

 

I guess, the only ones I have had "better than acceptable" loss are Hitachi's... but those were all SCSI's, which I have always believed were built to a higher tolerance than PATA drives.
