June 23, 201313 yr I'm guessing i've done this to myself somehow, but I don't know how, and I can't seem to fix it. I can see the cache drive from windows, but I cannot see all contents of that drive. For months, I couldn't see any contents, but about 6-8 weeks ago, I put my JRiver Media Center library on the cache drive, and I can see that folder, and all of the contents of that folder from windows. I cannot see any of my plugins folders or anything else on the cache drive from Windows7x64. I upgraded yesterday to the latest RC-15a, but the issue persists. When looking at my shares with Simple Features I see these listed... backup Backup to offsite storage Compute... 3.25 TB [browse /mnt/user/backup] cache Compute... 3.25 TB [browse /mnt/user/cache] documents All types of documents Compute... 3.25 TB [browse /mnt/user/documents] music All music files Compute... 3.25 TB [browse /mnt/user/music] photos All image files Compute... 3.25 TB [browse /mnt/user/photos] plugins Compute... 442 GB [browse /mnt/user/plugins] video All video files Compute... 3.25 TB [browse /mnt/user/video] I don't recall creating a share called "cache", nor one called "plugins" Hmmm, a bit more looking has shown me that the cache share that shows the JRiver library files is really just the user share called "cache" above, not the actual cache drive. The actual cache drive is still not visible at all from windows. Here it is via putty though root@media:/# cd /mnt/cache/ root@media:/mnt/cache# dir plugins/ root@media:/mnt/cache# cd plugins/ root@media:/mnt/cache/plugins# dir couchpotato_v2/ headphones/ sabnzbd/ sickbeard/ so, how do I make it visible from within windows, then how do I get the JRiver library files on the cache drive, instead of a cache share?
June 23, 201313 yr Click on the cache link on unRAID main to export the cache drive. Create a share called "Jriver" and select Use cache disk: Only.
June 23, 201313 yr Author I'd really like to figure out why I cannot see items on the actual cache drive before I put more stuff on it. If i end up having to remove it entirely, and operate without a cache drive, then add it later to make it all work, the more stuff I have on it, the more tedious that's going to be.
June 23, 201313 yr These are 2 separate steps [*]Click on the cache link on unRAID main to export the cache drive. This is why there is no cache share appearing on the network. Click on cache [*]Create a share called "Jriver" and select Use cache disk: Only. This is how you can store the media library on the cache drive,
June 23, 201313 yr Author I don't know what you mean by 'export the cache drive.' however, I'm using Simple Features, and when i click on the "Main" tab on the top left, it takes me to a screen that shows all of my drives, with cache being one of them. Each drive, including the cache drive is shown in blue, and it a hyperlink. if I click on the cache drive, it takes me to a screen that allows me to make changes to the settings. it looks like the screenshot attached... As far as I can tell, it's set properly to let me see the cache drive from windows. if there is some problem with my settings, please let me know, but it sure seems like these settings should be 'correct'. thanks again.
June 23, 201313 yr Author Also, I just tried changing the export from "Yes" to "Yes (hidden)" and hit apply, then done, then went back in, and it was back to "Yes" I have no idea why it's not saving.
June 24, 201313 yr Author i just tried changing the Cache drive export settings a few times, then copied the syslog, which is attached. syslog.zip
June 25, 201313 yr Author Wow, I can hardly believe that was the problem, but removing it has indeed resolved the issue. I guess I must have entered /mnt/user/cache/ instead of /mnt/cache/ somewhere. Thank you very much for your help!
