Hello

I've been using unraid with my dlink DIR655 RevA as the main router + another one (revB) as an access point to have a better range. It has been working flawlessly for months (1 TV wired and another one wifi, all with WD TV live)

I did replace the main router by a DIR655 revB, and i updated both of them with the latest firmware.

On the access point, i saved the settings in a config file before the update, and uploaded it back right after. So i should have the same parameters

But i have now problems on the TV that is wireless....pictures block, stuttering, etc...

What parameters should i verify first? I know it's not an easy question, but i'm lost

Does somebody knows the optimum settings for the DIR 655?

This topic probably should be moved to Lounge, as it's really not unraid related, but I'll give you a couple things to try.

1. Unplug the power to the access point, and try just with the main router as your wireless.

2. Disable the wireless radio on the main router, and use just the wireless on the access point.

After you have done those 2 tests, you may have a clearer picture as to what is going on, and what to work on next. Asking for "optimum settings" for a wireless access point is pretty pointless, as the settings are going to be different for different environments. There is no single best setting, if there were, there would be no need for any other settings to be available.

I have the same router and have been experimenting with wifi performance over the last several weeks.

1.  Make sure the channels are far apart 1 6 11 is the only ones you should use.

2.  If you have the wifi set to "Auto 20/40" make sure the channels are 1 and 11 only.

3.  Make sure WMM is enabled on both.

4.  Use WPA2-PSK with AES only. Other you won't get "N" speeds.

If none of this helps use the older firmware again it could be the reason.
