Constant reads on array drives

Using V5 Final with a few plugins

 

SABNZBD, SB, CP, Plex, APCUPSD and OpenVPN Server.

 

Nothing is writing to the array drives as i have a parity drive for downloads before the mover kicks in, however i have millions of reads on the array which are constantly increasing.

 

I have stopped each addon and it still continues to rise. (do i need to disable and reboot for each one?)

 

Ive attached the log from lsof /dev/* which suggests that Plex and SAB are responsible

 

is it correct and has anyone else come across this and found a solution?

 

I have run most of the rc's before without a problem.

That log shows nothing except the cache drive being used.

 

Are you sure that a parity check was not running at the time?  That would explain your symptoms.

Yes it was at the time of the log.

 

I was assuming that a parity check wouldn't result in millions of reads on the array though?

A parity check involves reading every sector of every drive - so it WOULD result in millions of reads!

A parity check reads all the data on the array to check the parity
