[SOLVED] New Disk Not Adding Space To Shares

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I have been using unraid for a little while now and haven't had much issue with it, but I recently added another drive to my setup and unraid formatted it and added it to the array seemingly fine.

Now my issue is that I have added the drive to my shares, but the free space is not going up.  The drive is a 3TB WD Red.

My array was getting very low on space when I added the drive so I needed to do it quickly.  I added the drive and it formatted it but didn't clear it, so I removed it from the array and set pre-clear to run 3 passes as is suggested by some on the forums.  Well this took way to long, so after 48-ish hours the first pass finished and I Ctrl+C'd before it got far into the second pass.  I added the drive and it formatted it again, but now when I add it to the shares I see what is in the screenshot above.

Any help would be great, thanks

That screenshot is not the standard GUI for 5.0 (is it SimpleFeatures?).  I suspect it might be a problem in the GUI you are using and reverting to the stock 5.0 GUI might make the problem disappear.

What does Settings->Disk Settings show?

Here's a screenshot of that page:

Yes I believe it is SimpleFeatures (it has been a while since I set it all up so I'm not 100% sure).  I would be inclined to agree except before I manually moved some data to the new drive, my other drives were basically full and every time something tried to move files onto the share it would give me an error saying that there was no space to move files into the share.

I will give it a shot reverting to the stock GUI, but in all honesty, I'm not quite sure I remember how.  I just upgraded from rc8 I believe to the final version in the midst of these issues to see if that would fix it, and I'm not sure what I copied across that would have copied the interface.  I'll have to do some digging...

Did you include the new drive in Settings-> Share Settings?

Did you include the new drive in Settings-> Share Settings?

!! Now I feel like an idiot...  That was it!  Thanks very very much, I was banging my head against the wall pretty hard.

Typically these fields should be empty.
