November 4, 201312 yr Hopefully a simple question for the forum- Is it common for all the User Shares to temporarily disappear after an unclean shutdown? After restart, the parity check is around 4%, but the shares tab on the unRAID web management GUI is still totally empty. Some kind soul please advise if User Shares normally return upon completely parity check. Thanks. Running unRAID 5.0 / Syslog attached. November 4, 201312 yr That symptom is typical of a poorly written plugin that accesses the share before it is fully available, or it simply is a delay caused by the reiserfs journal replay mechanism after an unclean shutdown. I have seen delays of close to an hour before things came back online.
November 4, 201312 yr Author Is that a delay of an hour while the parity is going or after it completes? So far the check has been going for close to 90 minutes (at 14% currently) with no shares visible yet. Also, is there a way to verify what plugins, if any, you have installed? I believe I'm running a stock 5.0 OS with only this extra file by Tom: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=28484.0 to fix an earlier AFP issue. Many thanks for your input. I saw that plugins might be tied to this issue, but I was confused because I hadn't realized I'd added any.
November 4, 201312 yr Author Actually- just realized the array was started in Maintenance mode before the parity check began. Would that account for the missing shares? I'll prepare to facepalm if this is the case.
