smburns25
I am going to upgrade from 4.7 to 5.0.3 today and would like some help. I would like to revert my USB/Flash to a stock file, but retain the configs for my shares, etc. I copied this from a sig file: Revert to stock system: 1. Rename the /boot(flash)/config/plugins directory. 2. Rename the /boot(flash)/plugins directory. 3. Rename boot(flash)/extra/. 4. Use the stock go file (boot(flash)/config/go). Instead of renaming the folders above, can I simply delete them? Will this essentially reset everything and keep my shares intact or if there more that I need to do to remove any add-ons that are installed? Just want a quick sanity check before I take the array offline and perform the upgrade. Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment
itimpi
That should work fine. You can delete the folders instead of renaming them if you prefer that. Before doing anything it iss always a good idea to make a backup elsewhere of the entire contents of the USB drive as that makes it easy to revert to the previous setup if that becomes desirable for any reason. smburns25
Thanks for the quick reply. The first thing I did was make two backup copies of the flash drive as you can never be too careful. Off to upgrade the server. Fingers crossed......... Quote Link to comment
