New Flash Does not recognize my old config

Recommended Posts

I purchased a new flash drive from Lime Tech. My existing system had 8 drives plus parity and cache. I copy all the files from my old flash drive to my new flash drive except for license.txt (I figured this was the license file for the new flash drive). When I boot, the main screen has an empty configuration:( I saved a printout of the old drive assignment page. So I tried to manually add the drives to the config, but it only allows you to add 2 drives plus parity. It seems that it does not recognize that I have the full version of Unraid...what did I do wrong?

You're somehow wiped out the key file => Pro.key

It sounds like you copied your old Pro.key file to the new drive ... so the GUID doesn't match.    Thus it's restricting you to UnRAID Basic (free version).

If you don't have a backup of the new flash drive data, you'll need to send the GUID to LimeTech and he'll send you another copy of your key.    Click on Flash on the Main page of the Web GUI and it will show you the GUID for the drive.

License.txt is not your key file. Pro.key was and they match the usb stick. Email Lime Technology for a replacement Pro.key

+1

When you transferred all of your data from your old/previous thumb drive to your new one directly from Limetech, you wrote over/overwritten your new pro.key that was included with new thumb drive.  Definitely should e-mail Limetech for the pro.key that was included with new drive, also make a backup of your old license from previous drive since that pro.key on that drive should be still valid. pro.key file is located in the /boot/config folder.
