February 12, 201412 yr For some reason a file called "core" filled up my thumb drive. Initially I had a problem with samba not starting and found the file in the root of my usb stick. After google-fu-ing today, I found http://linux.die.net/man/5/core Since I'm a nix noob I need some advice how to deal with that? My stick is only 500 MB. What is the presetting for the core dump file in unRAID? How/where can I set it to a lower value?

While I am not a Linux expert, I can tell you that a lot more information will be needed to assist you. First, list all of the plug-ins that you are running. Second, attached a syslog to your next post so that someone who is much more knowledgeable than I am can analyze it . You will find instructions for getting a syslog in this thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=9880.0 By the way, you can simply delete those core dumps. I don't think anyone will want to wade through them to try to the root cause of the reason for the crash.

I'm concerned about the situation when the thumbdrive is completely filled up by the dump. There might be no space for logs or settings. Therefore I would like to limit the dump file size.
