rsync via nfs mount: broken pipe issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got 2 unraid 5.0.x servers running and I am in the process of transferring some tb

of data from one to the other using rsync and nfs mounts.

I have been seeing a number of errors like this one:

rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4 bytes to socket [sender]: Broken pipe (32)

rsync: write failed on "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx": No space left on device (28)

rsync error: error in file IO (code 11) at receiver.c(302) [receiver=3.0.7]

rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (226 bytes received so far) [sender]

rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(601) [sender=3.0.7]

This is forcing me to keep checking to progress of the rsync operation and restart

it if neccessary.

Is there a fix for this problem?

Regards

Matthias

I think the error may be related to the cache disk filling up.

I disabled use of the cache disk for the relevant share and

deleted some files from the cache disk.

What I am seeing now is that the free space on the cache disk

is still becoming less and less when I copy data to that share.

Why is this?

The issue with the cache disk seems to have resolved itself. Please close this thread. Thanks.
