I went out to by a flash key and realized I bought the Sandisk Mini instead of the micro.  Does anyone know what the difference is?  Is it simply that the key will stuck out further?  Will this work just as well?

    Should work just fine.  We try to pick the smallest USB flash devices so that it doesn't ket knocked out.  So far the winner is the Sony Microvault, but pricey compared to others.
