(Solved) not all folders in disk share

Featured Replies

Maybe someone can help me out on this one in windows 7 if I open the disk share it only shows the app folder from plex media server which I can not delete and am not using. If i go into shares in unraid disk shares shows the same thing but there is shares to the folders on that disk that work and show all the files. Any suggestions on what is causing this? Using unraid ver 5.0.5.

Can't really understand what you mean. Are you trying for disk shares or user shares? Maybe some screenshots would help.

Apparently you created a user share and named it disk3. Ironically, it's not actually ON disk 3 at all. Browse your other disk shares, and find the disk3 folder with the app folder in it and delete it. Any folder in the root of an array drive will automatically become a user share.

Did you create a share named disk3? Why?

A user share named disk3 is not the same as disk3. In general it is probably a bad idea to name a share after a disk since it only confuses things.

What are you trying to do?

[me=DaleWilliams]begins again to rant about 'reserved names' like 'disk1', etc.[/me]

...and then scurries off to create shares called 'root', and 'mnt' just for the heck of it.

(butchs37: I found out not to do this the hardway. Now that you know, think of it as being given one of the unRAID secret handshakes. :) )

You probably installed a plug-in and gave it the location /mnt/user/disk3/apps as the location to install. If you don't first fix that then it will continue to be a problem.

Your "disk3" is located on the cache disk.

I suggest you go to the cache disk. The easiest would be to share it from the main tab by clicking on the cache name and setting it to be exported. Then, you will find a "cache" share on your PC. Move the apps out of the disk3 directory to the root of cache. Delete the disk3 directory. Fix your plug-in that was using /mnt/user/disk3/apps to be /mnt/user/apps or /mnt/cache/apps. Stop and start the array to make sure the changes take effect. Then, go to the shares and you should find a new apps share so set the use cache disk setting to only.
