Preclear failing. Error: Kernel Panic - not syncing:Fatal exception in interrupt

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am having issues adding a new 3tb wd green drive. In the past few weeks after upgrading to v6, i've been replacing my 2tbs with 4tbs (data rebuild) and so far, all worked fineThis is the first time i have tried adding a new drive after upgrading to version 6

I tried preclearing the drive 4 times with the latest preclear script, also tried clearing it from the main webpage (making the server unavailable) and i get the same error.

I also tried switching the drive from the connection via sata controller port (SuperMicro AOC-SASLP-MV8) to connecting directly to the motherboard but i'm getting the same error

The error occurs around 6% of the 2nd step during preclear, See screenshots below.

Once this happens i can't access the server so i have to shutdown and re-start.

I hope someone can advise what the problem is

Thanks,

T

Same error after 9%.

This time the preclear stopped at 3% of Step 2 of 10 - Copying zeros to remainder of disk to clear it and when i take a look at the info from server, i can see the same error message "Kernel Panic - not syncing:Fatal exception in interrupt"on the server.

Had shutdown again and restart

tail syslog running but not sure it captured anything interesting
