April 28, 201412 yr Hi, I have a slight problem I'm hoping some one can help me with. My windows 8.1 guest works fine with passthrough etc but it wont shut down. If i shut it down from within the guest it appears to go off but when you run an xl list from the host it shows as still running and you can no longer access it from vnc or directly on the machine and you can't restart it without issuing a destroy command first. I also have it registered in the unraid GUI it'll auto start with the host and just pushing the start button will also start it but pressing the shutdown button does nothing at all. Has anyone ever experienced a similar issue or have any ideas?
April 28, 201412 yr I have exactly the same problem. In addition, issuing XL shutdown VMname has no affect. I've read elsewhere on here that PC drivers and .net framework need to be installed in the VM for this to work. Both are installed in both my Win8 VMs and neither will respond to CLI commands and, like you, when shutdown from inside the VM, will linger in XL list. Peter
April 28, 201412 yr I have the gplpv drivers and the .net framework installed. I can shut down win 8.1 through the unraid web gui as well as command line xl shutdown. But like you, if I shut it down through windows, it lingers in xl list until I issue a destroy command. It might be a xen bug or something. I always shut down through the Web gui just to make sure
