May 8, 201412 yr Hi, The answer to this is no doubt really easy for some, but for me the question betrays some deep frustration on my part (with myself). I have mostly Windows 7 clients , I have a new Windows 8 client. All belong to the HOMEGROUP. Accessing the drive SERVERNAME/Data/Software is no problem with W7 or even ES file exporer in Android. But with a Windows 8 client, I cannot go any lower than SERVERNAME/Data/. I get the message "You don't have the permissions..." I tried mapping a network drive using "other credentials" and explicitly putting in the UNRAID username and password.... no luck. I am sure that this is a schoolboy error. Thanks.

I am NO Windows 8 expert but I suspect it has something to do with credentials being setup on your Win8 machine when you first logged onto the Win8 cloud service. (As I recall [when helping my Gdaughter getting her win8 laptop running], a part of the initial setup procedure has you setup a link to Ms's cloud service.) I would bet that it is using those credentials to attempt to log onto your unRAID server.
May 8, 201412 yr may or may not help. I had a similar issue when I upgraded to UnRaid 5. The fix was to reboot the Windows boxes that could not get in.
