Heya guys can i edit network.cfg in notepad in windows or does it have to be done in a shell and permissions repaired?

Going to put my i750 into it because i'am worried about only having 2 gb of ddr2 to play with. I'am have only just precleared my drives and this is my first time with unriad, so i thinking to future proof with the i750 asus p7p55d as i have 8gb of ddr3 with it.

You cannot use the standard Windows Notepad to edit any of the system files on your unraid flash drive.  You need a editor that will supply the proper character at the end of the command line.  (I use EditPad Lite.  Do a google search to find it.  However, there are several others that also can be used with Windows.)

Thanks frank, its being along time since i last used *nix. Just opened stock network.cfg and can see what you mean straight away, i think i used vim in *nix in the past. Also this info you have just given should be put into the wiki as i can see noobs like me running into trouble :)
