June 12, 201412 yr My first set of preclears are ending, do I still need to: To save your results as a single MS-Dos text file, at the prompt type grep preclear /var/log/syslog | todos >> /boot/preclear_results.txt As some post on the forum suggest it is automatically saved and others say it lost on a reboot, I'm using Vterm windows. If I need to do it can I close all Vterm windows and then run the command on Vterm Alt-F1 or does it have to be run on all Vterm windows running a preclear before I close the corresponding Vterm window. Also how do i close the Vterm window's on a mac I have tried commandD and ctrlD with no luck. Thanks guys sorry to be a pain but there is so much old info on the forum it makes it really hard for new users trying to learn stuff, and Im good with computers, I can't imagine how someone with little computer knowledge would get on, maybe thats why they buy qnap and sinology NAS units. It's a excellent forum with some great information and such helpful users but the mods really do need to update everything to make it easier to find stuff relevant to 2014. It takes me ages to find scripts, plugins etc, and trying to find out what unmenu does, dynamix, how to run my APC UPS etc. I have spend over a month just trying to learn about this stuff and so much on the forum is out of date and not relevant to current versions of unRAID.
June 12, 201412 yr Preclear results are saved on the flash drive and are automatically saved at end of preclear Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
June 12, 201412 yr Author Thanks but I still can't close my Vterm windows and I don't know if it will save the data until they close or if it does it automatically as soon as the pre cleared drive finishes. The config guide says press Ctrl and D and it doesn't do anything. Any ideas, Im using a mac and have tried ctrl, cmd, fn and alt, no luck the windows still stay open. I have even tried it on my other server which is running windows and still no luck. Im using the KVM on both machines but it shouldn't make any difference.
