virtualised unRAID or standalone?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I currently use unRAID in my xenserver environment and it seems to work well, except that beta 6 sometimes has a hiccup with the libvirt stuff.

I have managed to find a cheap supermicro atom based motherboard with IPMI that interests me but I'm not sure of the value of going back to a standalone unRAID system.  With xenserver I can define boot options and start my domain controller first followed by unRAID so that AD is sorted but the question I have is 'Is this worth doing?'.  Are their any benefits I miss out on having unRAID virtualised?

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Chris
