October 2, 201411 yr I have been getting kernel panics during or after schedualed monthly parity checks. At first I thought that my LSI 9211-8i was over heating so I placed a fan blowing on the heat sync and ran another check and passed no issues. But the last couple scheduled parity checks have had a panic during or hours after a check. I don't have a log because I can't figure out how to get one after a kernel panic. What are the most common causes of kernel panics on v5.0.5 and is there a way to have a log saved to the flash drive so that it can be accessed after a panic? The only plug-in I am running is dynamix.
October 3, 201411 yr Author Ok thanks I didn't know you can still telnet into unRAID after a panic, I usually use the local terminal which was frozen. This will help me with the next panic, is there any thing that usually causes kernel panics and I can check those out?
October 3, 201411 yr Leave the active log window open until the system crashes. There is a button to open the log window on the right side of the bar at the top of the unRAID webGUI.
