January 23, 201511 yr HI! Don't know if it's covered anywhere, I tried searching the forum but didn't get any hit. I am using BTRFS raid-1 for the cache array in 6.x but I mount a SSD separately to run some apps. Would it be possible to add the Samsung's SSD optimized F2FS filesystem support that's been in the Linux kernel for a while. Otherwise, anything wrong if I roll my own kernel module and install the FS utils? Edit: some links https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/filesystems/f2fs.txt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F2FS
January 25, 201511 yr Author I've posted both FS utils and kernel module for v6.0-beta12 for those interested in giving Samsung's F2FS a go in a Beta environment. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/f4pkdddmnvdzf5f/AAC6EBk3qCm6pL8ni_Pcdr2Za?dl=0
April 26, 201511 yr OMG thank you. I heavily depend on F2FS. It is my primary File System I use for flash drives. Its proven more reliable than FAT or NTFS over the years.
March 28, 201610 yr Author Would it be possible to add this kernel module in the unRaid build? I use it constantly for my flash drives and SSDs attached to the system.
February 12, 20179 yr Author BUMP. Seriously, enable this as a module in the kernel config and provide it as a module. It's not a big deal and it helps those of us who use it. make menuconfig -> filesystem -> F2FS -> [M] Don't know why it takes two years to ask for this.
February 14, 20179 yr Author Thanks!!!!!! (make sure the crc32 kernel module is included, I believe the kernel currenbtly used in 6.3.1 requires it)
