March 16, 201511 yr I noticed several Reiserfs errors on one disk, so I ran reiserfsck and was told to run reiserfsck --rebuild -tree. That command ran overnight, and in the end the process was killed on Pass #1. Nothing was posted during that pass -- it must have been killed very early. I intend to go home tonight and first run --fix -fixable followed by the --rebuild once again. If that doesn't work, however, any thoughts on why the process would be killed during pass #1? I'm running 5.0.6 and the disk in question is a 3TB Toshiba. Thank you! Dave
March 16, 201511 yr Without seeing what happened in the syslog, I would guess that it ran out of memory. How much memory do you have? Try rebooting the server and starting up in safe mode to stop any plugins from loading

No. When you boot, the menu that pops up gives you the option to boot into safe mode - it stops plugins from loading.
March 16, 201511 yr Author Syslog attached. Also looks like I have just 1GB of RAM. Could have sworn I had more! syslog_DPC_MAR_16.zip
March 17, 201511 yr And you also definitely ran out of memory while running reiserfsck. (It invoked the oom-killer) I don't see any plug ins loading so I can really only see two options at this point. The ideal would be to get at least 4 gig memory for your server. Another less ideal option would be to make another unRAID boot stick and run it on your main desktop with the hard drive (11) in question (assuming your desktop has at least 4 gig) But then you are going to wind up invalidating parity and will have to rebuild it. Myself I would get the memory for the server
March 17, 201511 yr Author Got it. Thanks very much for your help. Not the first time and probably not the last!
