Errors at end of SMART report. Is this drive failing? Please advice.

Error 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29 are reported at the end.

 

Is the disk failing? Please advice what to do.

You are getting CRC errors. Almost always means a loose or bad cable. I'd suggest re-securing or replacing the SATA cables for this drive. Note that the Smart issues you are seeing will never go away. But when you correct it the ATA errors and crc counts will not increase.

So there nothing wrong with the disk itself, but a cabling issue? Big relief :D

 

I will do  as instructed and keep an eye on it.

 

The disk was harvested from a desktop PC and is running 3 preclear runs at the moment. Hope it will survive.
